A Heartfelt Night Supporting Cecil County Public Schools

First Financial was honored to attend the Have a Heart for Cecil’s Students Gala in support of the Foundation of Cecil County Public Schools. It was a joyful evening celebrating our shared commitment to the incredible students and educators of CCPS.

One of the night’s highlights was presenting a $15,000 check as part of the Superintendent’s Circle sponsorship, which will help fund meaningful initiatives for classrooms, teachers, and students across the county. The gala was inspiring and brought together many champions for education to raise funds for the Foundation’s grants and scholarship programs.

As a credit union founded by an educator and now proudly merged with the Cecil County School Employees’ Federal Credit Union, this partnership feels especially close to our hearts. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support the Cecil County school community and look forward to serving its schools, families and staff.

Back for year three! First Financial had a great time at the sold-out Designer Bag BINGO hosted by The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools! From name‑brand bags to special games, raffles, door prizes, and more, our team enjoyed a fun‑filled evening—and even had a couple of lucky winners!

We’re grateful to see that more than $30,000 was raised to support our local educators, students, and schools. Thank you to The Education Foundation for another fantastic night!

During the holiday season, First Financial had the pleasure of celebrating one of our newest healthcare partners, St. Joseph Medical Center, with a little surprise treat and a lot of gratitude!

To show our appreciation for the amazing night shift crew, we invited staff to snap a quick photo and share what they were most thankful for. The reward? A chance to win a dinner on us from the restaurant of their choice!

We loved seeing the photos, the smiles, and heartfelt notes of gratitude. A big thank you to everyone who participated, and for trusting us as your financial partner. Your dedication keeps our community safe and healthy around the clock!

One of our favorite holiday traditions is joining the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carroll County for their Annual Christmas Drive and celebration! This year marked our fourth year as a proud sponsor, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to continue supporting this festive event.

The BGC Christmas Party was a huge success, filled with joy, laughter and unforgettable moments for the Club kids. Every child received something they want, something they need, something to eat, and something to read. We absolutely loved seeing their smiles and always enjoy making their holidays brighter!

Since our partnership began in 2018, we’ve been committed to supporting the Club’s programs and initiatives to empower the kids and give back to the youth in our community. We’re proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs in their mission to make a difference and inspire all young people to achieve their full potential.

Here’s to many more years of spreading holiday cheer and supporting the incredible kids who make our community so special! Happy Holidays!

First Financial was recently excited to host students from Baltimore County Public Schools, Carroll County Public Schools, and Towson University‘s Outstanding Young Women’s Leadership Program!

The Outstanding Young Women Leadership Program started in 2020 through a partnership between Towson University’s Women’s Leadership Collective, founded by Dr. Grasmick, TU’s Presidential Scholar, and Baltimore County Public Schools.

Our Youth Outreach team led the students through an interactive budgeting game, where students are challenged to budget out certain monthly expenses, with essentials such as housing, groceries, transportation, and more. With guidance, our budgeting simulation game allows students to begin preparing for adult life by practicing healthy financial habits.

We are proud to continue our partnership with the Maryland Council on Economic Education (MCEE) by providing a $42,500 sponsorship dedicated to its financial education initiatives across Maryland schools.

This support will fund impactful programs such as The Stock Market Game and other programming for Baltimore County Public Schools, Carroll County Public Schools, Worcester County Public Schools, Somerset County Public Schools and many of the private schools in the Baltimore area.

At the heart of this partnership is a shared mission to support educators and students build confidence in managing their personal finances. By providing resources that promote financial wellness and economic understanding, we’re investing in the skills students need to make informed financial decisions, which is an essential foundation for lifelong success!

We look forward to continuing this partnership with MCEE in the year ahead and to seeing the positive impact these programs have on classrooms across Maryland!

This holiday season, First Financial Federal Credit Union is proud to donate $12,000 to Carroll County Food Sunday (CCFS) to provide holiday hams for local families, supplied by Hahn’s of Westminster.
