Security Alert: Scam Text Message

Security Alert: It has been brought to our attention that some members may be receiving text messages from a sender acting as First Financial Federal Credit Union. The impersonator may ask about verifying credentials – such as online banking username and password, Multi-Factor Authentication codes, card information, or PIN.

Please remember, First Financial will never ask for your personal or sensitive account information via email, text, or phone.

Recognizing Spam Text Messages:

  • Don’t fall for warnings saying, “Your phone is infected.”
  • Don’t reply with “STOP” if you’re being spammed – contact your network instead.
  • If you see a “business” phone number in a text, it’s no guarantee it’s real.
  • Don’t fall for texts from a Wi-Fi network that ask for details.
  • Never give out personal information or account information in response to a text.
  • If you get a text message that you weren’t expecting and it asks you to give some personal information, don’t click on any links.

As always, if you have any concerns or believe you have received a suspicious message, please get in touch with Member Services at 410-321-6060or send us a secure message through Online Banking or Mobile App.
