  1. Select the share or loan from which to download transactions.
  2. Select the starting date for transactions. Information over a year old may not be available online.
  3. Select the ending date for transactions.
  4. Click the file format you desire.
  5. Click the continue button.

Your transactions will be packaged into a file, and you will be prompted to download this file to your computer. Select the option to 'Save this file to disk', and click 'OK', then select a location on your computer to save the file.

MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER USERS PLEASE NOTE:

There is a fault with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1 that all downloaded files appear in the form of HTML files (i.e. .htm). This fault is documented by Microsoft on the following web page: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q279/6/67.asp.

If you have this problem, you can work around this issue by first selecting the option "open this file from its current location" (press OK) and then when the file download box reappears select "save this file to disk" (press OK again). Select a location on your computer to save the file.

Alternately, you can download and install Service pack 2 from the folowing site - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/download/ie501sp2.htm or upgrade to Internet Explorer 6 or above.

Default File Names

Please note that the default file name is 's' or 'l' for share or loan, then the share or loan number, then 'qkndl.qif'. For example, if you download transactions from your Share 10, the default file name is 's10qkndl.qif'.

Quicken Download Warnings

  • If you import the same transaction file twice, or if you download and import the same transaction as part of two different transaction files, Quicken will double post the transactions. This means that your Quicken file will contain duplicate transactions.

You may have transfers between accounts. When you import, select Special handling for transfers in the QIF Import window.

Using Special handling for transfers prevents duplicate transactions from being imported into your register. Transfer transactions are made up of two mirror transactions which appear in two different accounts. Special handling allows you to import only that side of the transfer that affects your net worth.

  • If you enter some transactions by hand, and you then import the same transactions from First Financial, Quicken will double post the transactions. For example, if you make an entry for check number 123 and you import the transaction for check number 123, your Quicken file will contain two different entries for check number 123.

This function will allow you to download transactions from First Financial to a file which you save on your computer. You can then import this file into Quicken or Microsoft Money. The steps for downloading transactions are as follows:

  • Click the Continue button.

Your transactions will be packaged into a file, and you will be prompted to download this file to your computer. Select the option to 'Save this file to disk', and click 'OK', then select a location on your computer to save the file.
