What do I do if I see the following error after I click on the OnLine Teller icon: Error message: MCW software needs to be restarted?

This means that OnLine Teller is temporarily unavailable. Most likely we had to take down the system in order to perform some type of regular maintenance. We will announce all maintenance tasks that cause OnLine Teller to become unavailable on our announcement page.

What does the following message mean: "This page has expired due to inactivity"?

You could receive this message for one of three reasons:

1. If you are able to logon to OnLine Teller and use the service, but get this message when you press the BACK BUTTON, the page you were previously on may have expired. This is a security feature for your protection. It is highly recommended that you use the menu buttons and links to access different parts of OnLine Teller, and avoid using the BACK BUTTON.

2. If you were using OnLine Teller, and have not done anything in over 30 minutes, your session will time-out. This helps to prevent others from accessing your account if you walk away from your computer while still logged on.

3. If you receive this message when you first log on to OnLine Teller, you may need to change a setting in your browser that controls how often your browser checks for updated pages.

Instructions for Internet Explorer:

  1. From the Internet Explorer menu, select TOOLS
  2. Select INTERNET OPTIONS
  3. In the center of the INTERNET OPTIONS page titled "Temporary Internet Files", select SETTINGS
  4. In the section titled "Check for newer versions of stored pages", select AUTOMATICALLY
  5. Press the OK button to save your SETTINGS, then press OK again to save the INTERNET OPTIONS

The page timeout settings are a security feature designed to help protect your account information.

When I click on your OnLine Teller logo a message box pops up telling me the site cannot be opened. Does this mean your web site is down?

If your browser does not support Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption, or you are using an older browser that does not support 128 bit encryption keys, you will receive an error message saying that the web site could not be opened.

To fix the problem, you must either turn on SSL or upgrade your browser.

To enable SSL in Internet Explorer 4.x
  • From the menu, select View, followed by Internet Options.
  • Click on the Advanced tab.
  • Move the scroll bar about a third of the way down until you see a little padlock and the word Security. Click to check the boxes next to both SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0.
  • Click okay at the bottom of the Internet Options window.
To enable SSL in Netscape Navigator 4.x
  • From the menu, select Communicator, followed by Tools.
  • Click on the Security Information tab, then the Navigator tab.
  • Move the scroll bar to the Advanced Security Information. Click to check the boxes next to both Enable SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0.
  • Click okay at the bottom of the page.

When I try to access your web site, I receive the message: "The Internet site you are trying to view uses a security certificate that was signed by an unknown authority".

This is a message from Microsoft's Internet Explorer 3.x. It means that your web browser's security certificates are not compatible with the security required by First Financial's website. Microsoft's recommended solution is to upgrade to Internet Explorer v4.01 or higher. You may download the latest version of Internet Explorer at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm.
