Federal Agencies

  • mymoney.gov: is the U.S. government's website dedicated to teaching all Americans the basics about financial education. Information is from 20 federal agencies government wide.

Fraud Information

  • National Consumers League: The National Consumers League works to protect and promote the economic and social interests of America's consumers, using education, research, science, investigation, publications, and the public and private sector to accomplish that mission. The organization was formed in 1899 with that purpose in mind and will continue to throughout the next century.

  • National Fraud Information Center: The NFIC was established in 1992 by the National Consumers League, the oldest nonprofit consumer organization in the United States, to fight the growing menace of telemarketing fraud by improving prevention and enforcement.

  • ID theft:The U.S. government's central website for information about identity theft. The site is maintained by the Federal Trade Commission. A recent publication called ID Theft: When Bad Things Happen To Your Good Name can be found here.

  • Fraud Scams - Every year, thousands of consumers get conned by telemarketers, Internet scams or through face-to-face encounters with unscrupulous con artists. For information about some of the latest scams visit www.fakechecks.org.
