EZ-Pay Bill PayerWhat You Need for "High" EncryptionTo upgrade your Internet Explorer browser Click Here. This service uses 128-bit encryption for the highest level of encryption available to ensure the security of your transaction. The difference between the standard 40-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer - the closed lock symbol) and the 128-bit SSL is that the 128-bit is more than 309,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times larger than the 40-bit. If you do not know if you have 128-bit encryption on your browser, there are a couple of checks you can do. Go to a secure web page, such as the Online Teller logon. If you are using Internet Explorer, roll-over the closed lock. "SSL Secured (128 bit)" will appear. If you are using Netscape Navigator, click on the closed lock. A Security Info page will be opened. Click on the "Open Page Info" button. You should see something that looks like:"Security: This is a secure document that uses a high-grade encryption key for U.S. domestic use only (RC4, 128 bit)." on the bottom half of the page. If you already have Internet Explorer 5.5 installed, you do not need to upgrade your browser with the Internet Explorer High Encryption Pack. If you need to upgrade, go to the Microsoft site and follow their directions. Netscape Communicator Version 4.06+ has 128-bit encryption. Netscape versions 6.0 and greater are not compatible with the software to logon to the bill payer service. The company processing this service is in the process of correcting this problem. Until this is resolved, please use the earlier 4.06+ version or Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 4.01 or greater with 128-bit encryption capabilities. If you are using AOL, to upgrade to the enhanced AOL web browser with 128-bit encryption, use the keyword UPGRADE. |
